In the mountain ranges of Algeciras and Los Barrios, we have designed a route that is truly surprising for being tough while demanding skill. Learning from our previous two editions, our technical director has given this one a leap in quality in the long Spanish race. In the Alcornocales 50, you will find a big percentage of paths with ascents and descents that are short but very demanding in terms of concentration, while extremely beautiful.
In terms of the scenery, you will enjoy passing through spectacular areas of the Eurafrica Territory such as the typical gorges formed by the zone’s special mountainous terrain, passing through the park’s pretty wooded ravines and rivers that are always full, and ascents to mountain passes that are now legendary such as Pico Vacas. There are very humid areas which, as a result of winds and the natural frontiers provided by the mountain ranges around the Bay of Algeciras, form veritable cloud forests; the last in continental Europe.
